Description

This course focuses on essential financial management skills, which cover investment, financing, and risk management decision-making for both private and public organizations. It is designed for future leaders whose career requiring financial expertise and managerial skill, such as board members, senior executives, finance or management information system managers, member of corporate finance group of a financial institution, or executive of regulatory body. It provides important and useful knowledge and skills needed to help small-and-medium enterprises (SME), government agencies, not-for-profit-organizations or large corporations to make wise investment and financing decisions as well as to formulate prudent risk management strategies using various types of financial data modeling tools. This is a hands-on workshop style class with in-class demonstrations of financial data modeling and analytics. A step-by-step PPT guide will also be provided for in-class assignments.

Learning Outcomes

Primary goals: (a) to understand the essential principles and techniques of financial investment, financing, and risk management; (b) to develop and sharpen analytic abilities in financial management; and (c) to apply the financial modeling tools in decision-making process for private and public organizations as well as not-for-profit organizations.
